Description
Bedbugs have a very characteristic flat and oval-shaped body with no wings. The average length can be between 4 and 7 mm. They are shiny reddish-brown in colour and sometimes may look dark brown. They spread from one building to another mainly through second-hand furniture, furnishings, bedding, clothes or any item closely associated with human use.
In commercial buildings such as hotels and resorts, bedbugs enter through luggage, luggage carriers and used goods in addition to the above-mentioned items. Bedbugs also exude a subtle, sweet, musty odour. Houses with large numbers of bedbugs may have a characteristic unpleasant smell.
