Description
The term woodboring beetle encompasses many species and families of beetles whose larval or adult forms eat and destroy wood. These beetles are difficult to control, as their life cycle mostly takes place in concealed areas.

The majority of furniture in Indian households is made of wood or wood composites. Powder post beetles—ranging from 2.0 to 24.0 mm in length—are reddish brown to black in colour. The larvae are white, C-shaped, and have no spines on their bodies. Their life cycle lasts approximately one year.
